About the course

The MLP course has been specifically created for applicants who want to begin a career in the gas business but who either lack or have little prior trade experience.

LCL Awards created this learning package in response to modifications made to the Gas Industry Standard of Training. This certification, which meets the most recent IGEM/IG1/Supplement 2 requirements, is recognized by Gas Safe as an alternative to a regular gas fitting certification. Candidates can advance to the ACS domestic assessment and earn the Gas Safe Registration by earning the MLP certificate.

Certification and Progression Pathway for MLP Course Graduates

Upon successful completion of the Assessment, the candidate will receive a Fundamental Domestic Gas Training (MLP), HWSS (G3) and Water Regulations certificates from AdSkills Certification and will be eligible to enrol onto ACS Initial Assessment to become Gas Safe Registered. Subsequently, successful candidates will be able to begin constructing a portfolio of on-site work under the supervision of qualified Gas Safe registered engineers. The candidate will be prepared to take the ACS Domestic Initial Assessment once the on-site portfolio has been submitted, evaluated, and signed off.
